![]() ![]() is this a joke? Putting a package in your neighbors box and saying take it easy makes sense when everything is labeled. Because the attitude makes no sense seeing as that it’s so completely out of line to be upset about the local mailman’s inablilty to read numbers and put a cardboard box in the correct slot that matches or if there’s a mistake to at least set it on the door step. but then I read about a post man driving their daily routes And how making “quotas” or not wanting to deliver to on something that’s due to be delivered and how the only helpful comment I read recommends going into the local office and asking nicely because getting irate about something important in the Mail that was a. That’s because it’s important and what I’m paid to do. So I understand the reaction of the public pushing me to work faster in a situation that has potential for death with careless mistakes. somehow I understand the seriousness of what I do and that there needs to be a sense of urgency and precision in order to make it work. it gets hard to constantly want to wake up in the middle of the night and drive through hurricanes or whatever natural phenomenon took the lights out in the most inconvenient hours of the night or day only to have the ppl you are there to help get angry and upset about how long it took me to carry myself and my 75lbs of tools up a 60 foot power pole to fix an issue that requires me to manipulate another few hundred pounds of equipment into position while taking care not to create a situation where I either electrocute and kill myself, the person I’m responsible for, burn up the house connected to the portion I’m working on or damage the entire line I’m on and lockout a complete. I will lose my job, be replaced, and the utility company will hire the next capable employee who can handle the training requirements and has the physical ability to do a lineman’s job without question or without flinching and call the previous years spent on myself a loss without even the slightest reconsideration. If I choose not to show up to fix your power. Despite having spent over a million dollars worth training, equipment, and also the time. I get called I have to go fix it with a crew or risk losing my job. Could be morning, mid day, evening, late night, middle of the night or anytime in between that I haven’t mentioned. it means when a storm or failure or accident or any other act of god or nature chooses to create a situation where your power goes out. For those who don’t know what that means. ![]() Let me explain why this bothers me so much… I work for the power company meaning I’m a lineman. usps basically said we’ll because it’s saying delivered then it was and so that lost package ended up being a total loss of funds since apparently the fact that it says delivered means more than actually being delivered and so I basically got a too bad answer from them. This same thing just happened to me and it’s happened before when the “delivered at/in such and such” msg arrived despite not receiving a package. Tracking your deliveries is a great way to make sure your packages land in your hands-not those of a porch pirate.Know this old but want to “vent” after reading the comment from the person who post as if they worked for usps and so they had knowledge about it. That way I can either make sure I'm home when the package is delivered, or ask a friend or neighbor to grab it for me. I get alerts from Amazon, USPS, and UPS that tell me when my delivery is within five or fewer stops of my house. Most delivery companies-including Amazon-let you track your package from the warehouse right up to your porch. That way, if you’re not home to accept the delivery, your packages won’t be left unattended.Īnother way to prevent package theft is to sign up for package delivery tracking. Another way to ensure secure delivery is to require a signature upon receipt. It may not be quite as convenient as receiving deliveries at your front door, but one sure way to guarantee safety is to have packages held at the post office or delivery service store until you can pick them up yourself.īoth FedEx and UPS provide options for you to have packages held at a local location rather than dropped off at your home.
